First four missions

    Hi Guys

    The first four missions in Year 0 are supposed to pull you into the game and teach you everything you need to know to play. Does it do this for you? How did you find the first bit of the game? Too hard... Too boring... Too easy, not enough information?

    The first 5 minutes of any game are vital to inform and entertain the player, your thoughts are really appreciated.

    Like the new feel to the first four missions, seems to flow very easily. A few things that I couldnt work out at first (but did work out eventually) that might help others is:
    1. Energy - How is it regained
    2. Harvester - The fact that it stays were it is
    3. Towing - APC's are not good for towing as they often destroy things, have to have a number of unarmed trucks to tow wrecks

    Really like the feel to the game

    Also from fighting the first Marauders its quite a jump to the next territories, is it worth considering another fixed layer of territories, also without at that time a harvester, this will then hopefully feed people in a bot more

    Thanks for the feed back Nic, really appreciated. Energy will be the virtual good that you can buy though we are considering giving a bit as well when you harvest terrain with the harvester. How would you like it done?

    On the APCs destroying wrecks does this happen often fir you? They should only shoot things if you want them to.

    what did you get in your second battle with the marauders we have scaled this back but we are getting feedback that they are too hard early on and too lame later.

    Cant completey remember first four missions, but do remember it being a bug jump, but not so much that it wasnt just a challenge that made me go back to previous screens and scavenge some more first

    In relation to APC's, they will also go to fire at wrecks, no option seems to always be there to tow, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. However I now have a number of trucks without weapons that I can send in to gain wrecks, would be really good though that as soon as a unit is dead or a wreck that you dont target it unless you specifically want to

    With energy, understand why you would set it up to buy, however would recomend trickling some through harvesting as well

    I'd second the extra free energy...maybe from harvesting? I found the first four missions well laid out and easy to understand but I would have liked a bit more combat and it took me a while to realise that i'd taken the territories as well as the mission. I found mission 5 impossible I was out gunned and out numbered but I wore them down in the end.

    I also agree with putting a slow drip feed of energy possibly that you get a chance of gaining energy when collecting a harvest like a 50/50 chance or less, this will create an allowance of sorts for players and will cause some impatient players to prefer to pay for the energy. Facing the mission five issue I found it a great challenge encouraging me to play more, however there can be players that will look at the situation and give up and not bother playing again.

    When you eventually get paired up with another player, I think you could explain that little more. when I was playing the game I got to a point where the opposite team move or do anything except from fighting back. I didn't realize I was playing with another player until someone attacked me later on the game. I think you should maybe fit in a small multiplayer battle explaining everything you need to know.

    I think that you could explain a little more with a message perhaps to let the player know that marauders are prone to return to the areas you have taken over as i have lost a large amount of territories.

    In relation to the towing, found that with the APC's if you are next to them and not moved you can tow, if you have moved next to the unit that turn and then click the wreck thinking you are going to tow you fire on it instead. Now I know this works well

    We have now changed APC's so that they dont have powerful enough weapons to destroy wrecks

    I feel that there needs to be more Instruction to how to proceed after the first two areas at the start have been overtaken by your troops, as I don't know what to do, there doesnt seem to be any indication of what I have to do.

    Hi Helina, are you in the city? You are supposed to scavenge for resources there.

    If you are stuck the '?' button on the information panel should give you a hint what to do. Also going back to the Map screen should give a pop-up to remind you of your current mission.
