For devs: pls make a spell usefull, this is how!

Dread of Aramar = 100% worst of the worst useless spell in the Lesser magic repertoir, one of the worst in the entire game. I have an idea on how to make it usefull. Skaven have spell that debuffs armour right? ----> how about making the dread of aramar debuff leadership? Targeted warrior suffers - 50 Leadership penalty (or - 100, that could be hilarious) on his next turn, literally becomes a coward!
What good is it you might ask? New, fun strategies, and most importantly making the spell usefull and very much competetive. This would be a new amazing feature, which could very well improve the gameplay experience, and there could be whole new builds around it: force-failing rout tests, softening up for a followup spell or force-all alone effect..... Hell, you could theoretically do a full pacifist band and make it work thanks to this!
Please, consider adding this effect to the original or even replacing it altogether, for the greater good!

Nice idea - but isn´t there the danger, that targeting the enemy leader, the whole warband will retreat instantly?

Well ,
1. IT could be used to force enemy rout , that would be too powerfull
2. Debufing enemy leadership would be kinda trash. Why?
- with combat master and fearsome and all alone , fear test are removed (and these skill will get picked sooner or later ) leaving few VERY situational tests around , that you dont see often ,or against specific enemy

Debuffing leadership would be much better than the fear variant. There are spells and actions which would benefit debuffing leadership:
Lure of Chaos would have higher chance to take control of enemies, enemy casters would lose their flame swords and enemy priests/matriarchs would fail to keep their auras, armour and hammers, and you could lower the LD of the magister, making him fail to affect any of your warriors with lure of choas spell (you could also keep a warrior on your side theoretically, but that would assume you have a warlock cast it every single turn on him = not easy). Forcing enemy to rout is not as powerfull as you think - we already have spells that are just as if not more powerfull.
Take Lure of Chaos, which uses your own troops against you for potentially forever, or Doom, which instantly KO´s your warrior for 0 cost, which in my mind is better than *possibly* force routing the enemy you first legit have to damage, take the damn Hand of Lamnar instaheal spell of the inquisition and sisters, that not op?
To force a rout test you still have to damage your enemy band a fair bit (punishes the single captain bands), and you can counteract it for at least 1 turn by having the cheap relic (Ld test autopass).
Point is to make it at least a little bit usefull, not a worthless place holder and a waste of time, effort and gold for the tome of magic.

It could, at least you dont have to fight those damn vamps/dawi/prisets for a century before you fail your timer rout test cuz of how much Ld they got and they keep passing while you stand there surrouding them and fail your first

1. spells are set - they come from orginal tt mordheim. (some are broken , some turn to be broken , and some become useless later)
2.while doom is powerfull , chances it will work arent to high , but other that that yes that a powerfull spell
3. while you have provided enoght evidence to change my mind on your idea (and while i like it now) , it would change drasticly what the spell is about. Instead of being fear shield (if it work ) it would change to couter against /boost for leadership depends spell, and that would be leaving tt rules this game try to be true to .
.and the end you re right , this spell need a buff , and since it suposed to be a magic vision of dread that make even bravest men turn to whining cowards , why not make it ignore fear resistance (from fearsome and hardened) and debuff for -15 L ? this way it will stay true to its flavor while becoming relevelant again , and it could be used in way proposed by you (altrught less effective )
4. if we boost one spell , we should boast other useless spells too (and a fair bit of them , like half of necro lore)
