How to rank up

So with the new ranking system in I'm trying to rank up and get some cool titles. It seems to be that the way to rank up though isn't as I imaged. When i hit 500 notoriety on a new account I ranked up, but does anyone else know any other ways to get them higher ranks?

There are several ways to rank up. These range from your notoriety level, credit purchases and length of play. LOADSAMONEY isn't one unfortunately, although its a cool idea, you can't buy titles in game at the moment
