I thought it would be a good idea to get an introduction thread going for old and new members.

A little about myself... I'm 24 years old, love playing a massive variety of games such as Zelda, Bioshock and The Last of Us. I've been playing the Year 0 beta for the last couple of days and I am really enjoying it!

Hope to see you around! ;)

Hi and welcome!! I'm Jemma! It sounds like we have a lot in common! I just recently started playing it too and I'm impressed by the beta already. I'll probably get playing again tonight on my ipad. :]

I'm Riku, 19 years old from Hungary. If everyone talked about their favourite games then mine are Kingdom Hearts, The Last of Us, Devil May Cry, but yeah the list would be too long here.
I can see the potential in Year 0, even now in beta version is quite fun.

Oh wow, Hungary huh? I'd love to visit there one day! And ahhh yes, Kingdom Hearts, I know it well! I see where the username Riku has come from then! I love Kingdom Hearts too.

I'm really glad that you're enjoying Year 0 already and you can see the potential. I can't wait for the full thing myself!

Well, the full thing won't contain any keyblades I think, but still waiting for it. :D Quite sad that working in a night shift makes it hard for me to play this or anything else because I sleep through the day. Oh, well.

Haha, no keyblades in Year 0! No Goofy or Donald either unfortunately but still lots of fun to be had!

Awww too bad, I know how tough working nights can be! It's not easy when most other people are working on the opposite schedule to you. That's the good thing about Year 0 though, you can play it on anything. I've been playing it on my ipad lots and I'll more than likely play it on my phone when I get a better one! Nothing stops me from playing games, ha! Not sure if that's a good or a bad quality? Remains to be seen I guess!

I'm 19 years old, have always enjoyed playing games, more specifically FIFA, GTA, Minecraft, Batman (Arkham Asylum and City).
Tried the Year O Beta, seems quite good! Not really my sort of game but it is clear that it could be a good game for people that are interested in that type of game.

I just finished GTA V and I play on Minecraft daily!

That's too bad that it's not your thing but I'm glad you gave it a try anyway! Thanks!

Hello, I'm Joe, play a silly amount of games, been waiting to play this for a while, I always see the guys working on this in their place next to mine and was reminded to check again after seeing the videos on around the cafe.
Loving it at the moment, but I am pretty much grinding and trying to be godesque before progressing.

Hi Joe! I'm Jemma. :) I think that's a really good tactic, I should take notes because I'm not as patient and I don't seem to be doing so well. I need to regroup and get my Steel Wolves in order.

    Howdy, PenutReaper here.

Most people just call me Penut, or James. More often than not the second one, mainly because that's my name. I'm 18 and have been playing video games since I was very young. The first game I remember playing is Pokémon Yellow. More recently I've gotten into RPG's. I am currently playing Summon Night: Swordcraft Story, which is a game I would recommend you try.

I got into Year 0 a while ago, but stopped playing for a number of reasons. I got back into it recently.

Hi James! Nice to meet you. Ahhhh Pokemon. It wasn't my first ever game but my first Pokemon game was Red (I did play Yellow). I had a very tough time against Brock with my Charmander. And Misty come to think of it. Are you playing X or Y at the moment? I don't think I've actually managed to get anything done since I bought Pokemon X and I'm happy because I managed to trade a friend for a Charmander. Nostalgia! I'll admit, I haven't heard of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story but I just googled it and it totally looks like my sort of thing! I might give it a try.

    I'm glad you're back into Year 0! :)

I don't actually have X or Y yet. I don't have an aweful lot of spare change. Also I always made sue to level my Charmander pretty high before the Brock battle.

As for Summon Night, a friend recommended it to me. I hadn't heard of it either.

Well it's pretty good! If you ever get the chance it's a really good Pokemon game! I felt Black and White were only okay. It's the best one since the early 2000's and it's the first one since then that I haven't been able to tear myself away from. Also they have a feature called Wonder Trade which is where you blindly trade your pokemon with another trainer from wherever and you never know what you're gonna get. I got a few Weedles yesterday which wasn't great but it's worth it when you get something good.

    anyway...

So yeahh... Summon Night, tell me about it! :p

One of the best parts of Summon Night is the companion. Basically near the start of the game you are asked a bunch of questions and depending on the answers you pick you get given a companion. On one of my savegames I have a fairy type companion that is completely in love with me and is really jealous whenever I talk to just about any other female character in the game. On a different save I ended up with a robot, I can tell you much about the robot because he speaks using symbols. The character seems to understand him though.

As for the story, you are basically entering a tournament. To win you must make your own weapons and use then to defeat the other contenders. There are 5 different types of weapon, swords, axes, spears, drills and fists. Each type handles differently.

The combat is done from a sidescolling perspective, but most of the game is played using a top down camera.

Also, the music, it's pretty good.

Ooh that actually sounds kinda cool is it only on GBA? If it's expensive I may have to wait or get an emulator.

I'm a sucker for good music in games. It makes all the difference, like Zelda for example. Even more simple stuff like the Mario and Sonic themes... if they are instantly recognisable you've got a winner.

Yeah, it's only on GBA. I know what you mean about Zelda, I love those games. I don't imagine it'd be too expensive. The thing is, I have no idea how easy to find it will be.

There are two copies on amazon and one is £135 and the other is used amd £35!!!! Ahhhhhhh I'll have to get an emulator or something. I feel like £35 is a bit more than my budget can stretch on a gba game. It's a shame though, I would have bought it too.
