I've gotta say I'm getting pretty hacked off with land mines every friggin where! They do tons of damage to any ground vehicle which is generally 90% of your force, people put them all the way around their base so there's no way of avoiding them and there's no way to remove them unless I'm missing a trick somewhere?

Yes they are pretty powerful especially for their low cost and the fact there is no limit. The only trick you're missing is airborne units. A jet trooper can fly straight over them as well as helicopters. This actually came up in convocation the other day and we are considering giving a unit the ability to destroy them. Perhaps a unit which isn't often used by people, such as drones, to give them a use? What do you think?

Yeah I think giving a unit the ability to destroy them would be ideal as airborne units are most of the time a way too expensive option where as covering your base in mines costs hardly anything. Also another idea would possibly be to allow airborne units like the choppers transport the ground units.

Okay thanks. I'll ask around the office and see if anyone has any tips or tricks.

Thats why I love them! Cheap and you can cover your base in them. Fisk, if you think they're over powered you should cover your base in them!

I like to try and keep my base organised, so I don't use mines much :( Must be pretty good!

Yeah that's the thing I'm finding that people attacking my base isn't that much of a problem, I managed to repel most people with the use of just a few land mines and strategically placing my units.

However raiding a base is now proving to be a massive up hill battle that at the moment very rarely ends in success, so I'm now out of funds and can hardly afford to repair my units. Which then in turn means I can't afford to research the more powerful units that I need to try and take on the higher level of player.

Running at fortresses surrounded by mines, walls and artillery is not fun at all.

As it stands, the best way to get rid of an enemy landmine is to use a cheap scavenging unit (the best would be a scavenger) and scavenge the mine. You can normally do this in one turn. We are aware these is a problem with this though and we are very open to new ideas. We like the idea of giving a unit the ability to blow up mines, but deciding on the unit which has this ability is difficult as we have to take into consideration players at lower levels (mines are normally there main defense). If you have any other suggestions then let us know!

Maybe a unit that specialises in tech or stealth could disarm the mines? Haven't got that far into unit progression so I don't know if anything would fit the bill :p

Interesting, the scavengers can destroy mines normally within 1 turn. I've been playing around with it and almost every time I get rid of them in one turn so it isn't too bad, I think people need to be aware that scavengers have this ability! Would encourage people to use scavengers a little more as well ;)

I always take a scavenger unit. For this reason mainly but also when fully upgraded with extra resource storage i can send him off to scavenge the base when I focus on taking the harvester. Gains a nice few extra resources.

A tank? I'm jealous. I'm still saving up for one! Every time I get close I loose loads of resources again. Not sure what to get, a tank or helicopter.
